KUALA LUMPUR: Former director-general of the Special Affairs Department (Jasa), Datuk Mohamed Amin Salih, died from kidney complications yesterday at the Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital. He was 71.
Mohamed Amin’s son, Ahmad Dzafiruddin, 35, said his father, who suffered from kidney disease, died in the presence of his family.
"My late father was supposed to undergo surgery last week, but due to his weak condition, it had to be postponed,” he said.
Mohamed Amin’s remains were transported to his residence in Taman Sri Keramat last night.
Funeral prayers will be held at the Al-Ansar Mosque today, before his remains are laid to rest at the AU2 Keramat Muslim cemetery at about 10am.
Mohamed Amin leaves behind his wife, Datin Haiwazi Adam, 65, three sons and two daughters, as well as three grandchildren.
Mohamed Amin served as Jasa’s director-general from 2005 to 2009 and was chosen as Pahang’s Maal Hijrah Personality in 2008. — BERNAMA
