AirAsia named Malaysia's Best Company in Investor Relations

SEPANG: AirAsia Berhad, the world’s best low cost airline has been named Malaysia’s Best Company for Investor Relations (IR) this year.

AirAsia Berhad Chief Executive Officer, Aireen Omar received the award on behalf of the airline from Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Atan at the Malaysia Investor Relations Association (MIRA) Awards 2017 ceremony at Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

The airline also won the Best IR website award, which was presented to the airline’s Group Head of Corporate Development, Elina Effendi, who previously headed the airline’s IR team.

“Thank you to the Malaysian Investor Relations Association for the award. This is the result of the solid teamwork that we have fostered within AirAsia,” said Aireen.

She said the company had always been transparent with its investors and we will continue to engage positively with them in the future.

Aireen said winning the Best IR website is also significant to AirAsia as it is in line with their vision to be a truly digital airline.

“We will also continue to strive towards building value and maximising returns to our shareholders, and push the boundaries in all aspects of AirAsia”, she said.

AirAsia and its long haul affiliate, AirAsia X also won two individual awards; the Best CFO for IR which was awarded to AirAsia Chief Financial Officer, How Kim Lian and Best Investor Relations Professional (Mid Cap) garnered by AirAsia X Investor Relations Manager, Hanif Idrose Mohamed.

The award is aimed at recognising best IR practices by IR professionals and public-listed companies on Bursa Malaysia.
