Choral speaking: Petaling Perdana district is Selangor champion

PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Perdana district became champion in the Selangor State-Level Choral Speaking Competition held early this month.

The district was represented by a 35-member team from SK Subang Jaya.

They defeated 10 other districts when they wowed the judges and the audience with their well-coordinated, energetic and entertaining presentation entitled ‘Lessons From Fairy Tales’.

The school team has been the district champions for the past six consecutive years and this state level win was a sweet victory after a long hiatus.

They started competing in the 1990s and have gone to the National level three times and won the Cluster Schools National Choral Speaking Competition in 2015.

After their District Level win on 14 April 2018, the team has been practicing diligently under the coaching of the school’s English Language teacher S.Revathi and parent R. Sharmila.

SK Subang Jaya principal Hasimah Bohari congratulated the team for their success and said she is very proud of their victory.

She extended her appreciation to the teachers and trainers for their struggle, guidance and commitment in preparing the team and also to the students who put their heart and soul into their performance.

Second place went to the Petaling Utama district while the Gombak district came in third.
