PUTRAJAYA: Transport Ministry will conduct thorough investigation and take action against any misconduct, as highlighted in the Malaysian International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 13 Safety Investigation report of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
Its Minister Anthony Loke said the ministry would review the safety recommendations suggested by the team, which had concluded its safety investigation over the vanished plane.
“We will conduct thorough investigation and take action against any misconduct committed based on the findings under the existing provisions of the law,” he said in a statement.
Loke also reiterated that the government’s aspiration to locate flight MH370 had never been abandoned.
He said the issuance of the move than 1000 pages report was a testament of the country’s commitment and trasparency in complying its obligations as one of the contracting States under the Annex 13 of ICAO.
“The report was prepared in compliance with Chapter 6, paragraph 6 of Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation on Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation.
“It containts the analysis of the following areas - Airworthiness and Maintenance and Aircraft Systems, ATC operations, Cargo Consignment, Crew Profile, Diversion from Filed Flight Plan route, Organisational and Management Information of DCA and MAS and Satellite Communications (Satcom),” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to the Malaysian ICAO Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team for MH370 for its meticulous and transparent investigation.
