New KL Mayor to be announced this week [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The identity of the new Kuala Lumpur mayor will be finalised and announced this week.

Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad said the names of three shortlisted candidates, including members of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) advisory board, have been sent to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Once finalised, members of the advisory board will be sworn in before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, " the minister told a press conference after launching the Residensi Rampai II Federal Territories Homes (RUMAWIP) project here on Tuesday.

Khalid was responding to queries on who will replace outgoing KL mayor Tan Sri Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz, who stepped down on Sept 1.
