Family of man found buried in Batu Pahat receives Socso benefits

BATU PAHAT: The wife of a man whose body found buried behind a policeman’s house in Bandar Putera Indah, Tongkang Pechah, near here on March 27, received compensation from the Social Security Organisation (Socso) today.

Its Batu Pahat branch manager Suhara Mustafa said Suhaida Ahmad, 37, the wife of the victim, Zulkifli Musa, would receive two types of benefits, namely, funeral benefit and survivor’s pension.

She said the family received RM2,000 funeral benefit while the survivor’s pension to be disbursed on monthly basis and the amount was still being calculated.

“For the survivor’s pension, the payment will be divided into two parts, namely, the payment for the wife that will be for life, and for Zulkifli’s three children, they will receive aid until they reach 21 years of age or completed their first degree,” she told reporters after presenting the aid at the family residence in Kampung Tambak, Peserai near here.

Meanwhile, Suhaida, a full time housewife, said she would start doing business in small scale to support her three young children, aged two to five, after the death of her security guard husband Zulkifli, 37.

A policeman was arrested on March 27, after Zulkifli’s body was found buried at the back of his house in Bandar Putera Indah, Tongkang Pechah here at 5.30pm.

Suhaida lodged a police report on Zulkifli’s disappearance on March 18. –Bernama
