This was confirmed by three agencies namely the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) and the Works Department's Building Structure division after conducting checks at the building late last night.
Selangor disaster management chief Ahmad Fairuz Mohd Yusof said after the cracks were discovered, the Works Department's forensics team and PKNS consultants together with architects from Institut Kerja Raya Malaysia (IKRAM) began conducting tests this morning before the status of the building could be determined.

"The team has installed detectors and equipment to check on soil movement, building movement and other elements.
"These checks are expected to take three days before a decision can be made and to ensure that all information are consistent, on whether or not the building is safe," he said when met at the temporary shelter at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Keramat, here, today.
Ahmad Fairuz said as of now, 38 individuals from nine families have moved into the temporary shelter.
"We ordered for the building to be fully evacuated last night and some are staying with relatives," he said.
Meanwhile, police have tightened security at the Keramai Permai flat building.
Ampang district deputy police chief Supt Zaid Hassan said police were guarding the area to ensure there were no cases of theft at all residential units.
He said the Ampang Jaya district police have set up a post in front of the flat until the matter was resolved.
"Residents who wish to enter their units must report to the post first to avoid anything untoward from happening," he said when contacted.
