GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has been summoned by police to have his statement recorded over a recent press release issued by the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council.
Lim's lawyer, RSN Rayer, said the Bagan member of parliament would have his statement recorded at the northeast district police headquarters here about 11.30am tomorrow.
He said police were investigating Lim over a media statement issued by the PH Presidential Council on Jan 12, which touched on the Emergency declaration.
"I was contacted on the matter by investigating officer, Assistant Superintendent Mohd Khairul Ridzuan Khairuddin, from the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman yesterday.
"As such, (YB) Lim will be present tomorrow to have his statement taken and will give his full cooperation to the police in their investigations," he said when contacted.
Lim was supposed to have his statement recorded last month but it was postponed.
