KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has allowed more business sectors to resume operations during the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi in a statement today said the easing in restrictions is given to states in Phases 1, 2 and 3 for those who have completed their Covid-19 vaccination.
"The ministry also called on all consumers and business communities to work together to ensure that they, their families and employees have received the vaccine and ensure a high level of compliance of all standard operating procedures (SOP) to protect the people and ensure business continuity.
"KPDNHEP enforcement officers will conduct daily monitoring and inspections to ensure all sectors under the distribution, wholesale and retail trade sector do not cause the re-emergence of Covid-19 in the country," he said today.
The new sectors to be reopened are clothing, fashion and accessory stores including departmental stores for Phases 1 and 2 states where operators may allow fitting rooms to be used and provide single use gloves to customers.
Florists and nurseries together with outdoor shops selling tools for camping, fishing and others are also allowed for Phase 1 states with customers limited to two hours per visit.
Vehicle sales and distribution are also allowed while test drives will also be permitted for Phase 2 states.
Hair salons, hair dressers and beauty parlours are also permitted to operate in Phases 2 and 3 states without limitations in services offered to customers.
"Cosmetics, skincare and perfume stores are allowed to open. Perfume testing is also allowed with presence of staff or consultants," he added.
