KUCHING: It will be a four-cornered fight for the Padungan state seat after an hour-long nomination process at the Kuching South City Council auditorium here, today.
The process, which began at 9am, took place without the procession of supporters accompanying their candidates.
Returning Officer Theresa Korina Peter announced that the nomination ended at 10am.
Kuching South City Council Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) submitted his nomination form at 9am, followed by Raymond Thong Ee Yu (Parti Bumi Kenyalang) at 9.03am.
Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak candidate Soo Lina filed her nomination papers at 9.05am, while Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen submitted his form at 9.09am.
"I have checked their nomination forms. I am satisfied and have decided that no nomination forms have been rejected," said Peter.
Early voting for the Sarawak state election is set for Dec 14, while polling day falls on Dec 18.
