KUALA LUMPUR: Many stranded flood victims are still waiting to be rescued in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam, Selangor, tonight.
Some have been starving for more than 24 hours while others tried to keep their small children and babies warm while waiting on their houses' rooftops.
Members of the public, who grew worried of their loved ones and friends waiting to be rescued for more than 24 hours in the dark and cold weather, had been alerting authorities via phone calls and social media posts since last night.
It is understood that many stranded victims are with small kids, babies and bedridden adults.
Twitter user @lilacbluishh said her sister's friends had been stranded within the residential area for more than 24 hours.
She said the victim was with a three-year-old child and a nine-month-old baby.
"They are still stranded on their roof with no sight of help since last night.
"Their food supplies are running low as most of it are underwater.
"Please help! #DaruratBanjir #KitaJagaKita," said her post.
The location of the mother with two kids are No 9, Jalan Johan, 25/121, Taman Seri Muda, Shah Alam.
The user shared a contact number, 011-33928063, believed to be the victim's for any volunteers to call.
Twitter user @alfaruq313 said many distress signals were still coming in from Taman Sri Muda, Meru and other places nearby.
"It has been more than 24 hours. Most of the victims have not eaten or drink since last night.
"Victims in the area are not fully evacuated. We need immediate response now.
"Please don't let the victims go for 48 hours with no drop of water or food.
"The adult male might be able to endure it but it's challenging on the women, children or old folks," said the user in his tweet posted earlier this evening.
Another Twitter user @danisshanair said some of her family members, including those with babies were still waiting to be rescued.
"I feel so helpless. I have tried all my resources.
"It's dark and everybody's been starving close to two days now.
"Somebody please reach out and help," said the user.
