Traffic building up at several stretches on PLUS Highway

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic is building up at several stretches on the PLUS Highway heading to the north, mostly in Perak and Penang.

A PLUS spokesman said as of 1pm, the traffic on Slim River-Sungkai stretch was slow moving for a distance of 7km, until the Slim River toll plaza, adding that many vehicles were also on the Tapah to Gua Tempurung stretch.

"In Penang, traffic is also building up on roads leading to Sg Dua, Juru and Jambatan Pulau Pinang. Same goes for motorists traveling from Rawang to Sungai Buaya.

"Those traveling southbound on Plus would also experience congestion at the Lukut to Port Dickson road at KM4.3," he said when contacted.

In Johor, he said, from Cahaya Baharu to Jambatan Sg Johor and to Desaru, traffic was also slow moving.

In the country's capital, more vehicles are seen on the roads and highways after lunch hour compared to this morning.

"Most state roads and mainroads in the Klang Valley are rather clear on all directions except at the Gombak toll plaza towards Karak.

Apart from Gombak, the rest of the highways namely Elite, Akleh, NPE, LDP, Kesas and NKVE are all still clear, without any traffic congestions.
