PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has received six complaints through the MyHelp@KKM system that allows junior doctors to report workplace bullying and toxic work environments.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said investigations into the complaints, which began coming in from Oct 1, would be conducted by the ministry's integrity unit.
"The identities of the complainants will not be disclosed. That's the bottom line. They can also file a complaint anonymously.
"It has only been four days and we have received six complaints. This means people are using the system.
"I want to reassure all Health Ministry staff that no matter their rank, they should not be afraid to use the system because their identities will be protected and a thorough investigation will be conducted," he said after the ministry's monthly gathering here today.
Two weeks ago, Khairy said the Healthcare Work Culture Improvement Task Force proposed the setting up of a complaint system to allow junior doctors to lodge complaints and to allow immediate action to be taken to address their grouses.
The task force was formed to look into the death of a houseman attached to the Penang Hospital, as well as reports of bullying and stress among healthcare personnel.
On a separate matter, Khairy said Malaysia recorded 21,336 Covid-19 re-infection cases between January 2020 and Oct 3 this year.
To date, 4,845,109 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Malaysia.
