KUALA LUMPUR: PKR has called for solidarity with teacher Fadli Mohamed Salleh who is facing possible dismissal or demotion for being vocal on social media about the country's education system.
PKR Vice-President Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said every criticism on school curriculum given by the teacher was relevant.
"I believe every teacher wants the best for their students.
"As a father, I always see how teachers sacrifice themselves to ensure every child gets the best education in the school," he added.
"If we randomly ask any teachers about this issue, they would say the same thing too.
"(The) Education Ministry (MoE) should be aware and be more unbiased about the criticism given by teachers. They are the ones who implement the policy made, so they know better about what happens on the ground (school).
"I hope that teacher Mohd Fadli will submit justifications and be evaluated fairly by the MoE, and I heard that this matter will also be presented before the court," he said in a statement posted on Facebook today.
