Tunku Ismail calls luxury car drivers out, slams reckless manoeuvres

JOHOR BARU: Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim "branded" a convoy of reckless luxury car drivers as "empty barrels".

Vocket Car Club's Instagram account posted a video titled "One's live is way more valuable than a Lamborghini"

In response to the post, the Tunku Mahkota Johor commented: "Ni orang panggil "Empty Barrel" always make more noise. Dah macam Jakun dapat basikal, Turun bukit pun kayuh. Mungkin nak kena ajar macam mana nak hormat orang ramai."

(This is what people call empty barrels – an idiom that means an empty can makes the most noise, associated to a person who talks a lot but without substance).

He likened the drivers' actions to someone naïve who peddles a bicycle while riding downhill.

He also said that they needed to be taught how to respect others.

Tunku Ismail's comment garnered more than 3,000 likes and over 700 responds at press time, with most users agreeing with his post and urging him to take action against the errant drivers.

Meanwhile, Kota Tinggi police chief Superintendent Hussin Zamora confirmed that police have recorded statements from five men aged between 44 and 64, believed to be part of the convoy from Senai heading towards Bandar Penawar via the Senai-Desaru Highway in Kota Tinggi.

The men were released on police bail.

The 40 over luxury sportscar car convoy included Porsches and Lamborghinis.
