ERS deployment in Ranau on track - SESB

KOTA KINABALU: Efforts to install the Temporary Diversion Tower, known as the Emergency Restoration System (ERS), in Ranau by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) are on schedule, Sabah First Info reported.

This swift response to the urgent need for transferring transmission lines to the ERS towers since Feb 7 has seen the Sabah government facilitating emergency support through the Royal Malaysian Air Force to transport five ERS tower containers from Selangor to Sabah.

On March 5, SESB CEO Mohd Yaakob Jaafar said two of the five containers supplied by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) arrived for SESB's use, with the remaining three containers expected to arrive the following day.

He mentioned that eight ERS towers would be installed by SESB in collaboration with TNB, with diversion works anticipated to be completed by mid-March.

Additionally, the construction of new transmission towers is expected to be finished by early April and mid-June of this year.

"SESB remains committed and focused on ensuring a stable electricity supply in the state for the comfort of its consumers and citizens, welcoming cooperation from various parties to help address this issue," Mohd Yaakob said.
