KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 8,909 students have been offered placements at Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) schools nationwide for the 2025 intake.
Mara chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said that 7,229 spots were allocated for Form 1 students and 1,680 for Form 4 students across 56 MRSM schools.
"This year, Mara received 93,635 applications for Form 1 and Form 4 intakes at MRSM for the 2025 session. All applicants were required to pass the MRSM Admission Aptitude Test (UKKM) and meet other stipulated conditions for admission," he said during a press conference after launching the Mara Integrated Accounting Conference here today.
Highlighting Mara's commitment to inclusivity, he said that 60 per cent of placements were reserved for students from low-income (B40) families, with additional priority given to applicants from rural and urban poor areas.
Asyraf said out of the 93,635 applicants, about 35 per cent met the minimum requirements for MRSM admission.
He said successful applicants were notified via SMS or email, with the results also available online starting at noon today.
Students must confirm acceptance or rejection of the offer within seven days. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the offer.
Eligible applicants who have not yet received an offer can check their status on Jan 13, Jan 27, March 3, and March 15.
Registration for new students is scheduled for Feb 2.
Asyraf said that applicants who had not received an offer by April 1 would be deemed unsuccessful.
"This process ensures that eligible and deserving students have the opportunity to benefit from the high-quality education provided by MRSM," he added.
