Flood: More evacuees in Sarawak, unchanged in Johor and Perak

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees in Sarawak has increased while the figures for Johor and remained unchanged as of 8pm.

In SARAWAK, the number of flood victims rose to 42 people from 22 families compared to 20 people from 13 families earlier this afternoon.

All of them, from Rumah Leo and Rumah Alice Jimmy, are sheltering at a temporary relief centre at the sports complex hall in Kanowit district.

In JOHOR, State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani said that the number of flood victims remained at 230 people from 72 families, with all of them still staying at three centres, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan Melayu Raya, Pontian; Kahang Multipurpose Hall and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kahang, Kluang.

Meanwhile, in PERAK, the number of flood victims remained at 31 people from nine families from Kampung Padang Serai, Kampung Kasi and Kampung Pengkalan Damar, Manjung, with all of them placed at the Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai centre here as of 8pm.
