BENTONG: Police have urged the public not to share unverified information or speculate on the landslide in Genting Highlands today.
The landslide had sparked fear as there were claims that it involved the main road to Genting Highlands and Janda Baik.
"The Genting Highlands police station was alerted to the landslide at 2.47am.
"It completely blocked the road to Amber Court and Ion Delemen in both lanes. No casualties or property damage were reported.
"Earth clearing work was completed about 2pm. The stretch was reopened to all vehicles.
"The authorities and Genting Highlands security are monitoring the situation at the site.
"Do not speculate on the landslide. The public can contact the Bentong police headquarters at 09-222 2222 or the nearest police station for firsthand information on the situation," he said today.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said the landslide did not involve the main road to Genting.
Resorts World Genting (RWG) said the company's operations were unaffected and that the main road Jalan Genting Highlands was fully accessible.
"The landslide occurred outside RWG in Jalan Ion Delemen. Our emergency response teams were immediately despatched to assist the police and the Fire and Rescue Department.
"The safety and wellbeing of all affected individuals remains our utmost priority. We assure that guests and staff at RWG are safe and our operations remain unaffected."
