PM: Anti-corruption rallies allowed if regulations followed

DENGKIL: The government will not prevent the public from organising anti-corruption rallies, provided they comply with regulations set by the Home Ministry, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking to reporters after attending Friday prayers at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Dengkil, he said he had no objection to peaceful rallies opposing corruption.

"Permission (for anti-corruption rallies) has already been granted.

"The home minister has said approval was given, but there are specific locations where permission was not issued.

"As far as I'm concerned, I have no problem with it.

"Go ahead, protest against corruption," he said.
