KLANG: Seven factory workers experienced breathing difficulties and burns following an ammonia gas leak at a food factory in Pulau Indah here.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received a distress call about the incident at approximately 12.17pm today.
"A total of 16 personnel and various assets from the Pulau Indah, Shah Alam, And Bukit Jelutong Fire Stations responded to the distress call.
"Investigations revealed the ammonia leak originated from a faulty gas valve," he said.
Mukhlis said four men and three women suffered breathing difficulties and burns in the incident.
"One of our personnel also suffered from exhaustion while on duty.
"They all received treatment by paramedics at the scene," he said, adding that they managed to get the situation under control by around 3.10pm.
