KUALA LUMPUR: Workers and patrons of establishments near a nightclub along Old Klang Road have voiced their concerns following a violent incident where two cars ploughed into people after an argument.
A customer at a nearby shop said this was not the first time disturbances had occurred in the area.
"My friend told me that a tussle had happened a few days before the incident. He texted me in the middle of the night informing me of the ruckus.
"I ignored it until the next morning, dismissing it as fights are quite normal. However, I did not expect it to escalate into something that looked straight out of the Grand Theft Auto video game," he said.
A worker from a nearby business told the New Straits Times that her concerns had grown since the nightclub began operations a few months ago, especially about inebriated individuals.
"I usually arrive at my shop around 6am, and sometimes there are still drunk people lingering in the area, so I have to be extra cautious.
"I keep the automated door locked until 8am for safety reasons. I am worried because sometimes they also thrash the bathroom," she said.
She also said she hopes authorities would take swift action against those responsible.
Earlier, four men were arrested following the incident.
City deputy police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the incident stemmed from an argument between two groups while they were partying.
This comes after police initiated a probe after a video of the pickup truck and a sedan ploughing into a group of people went viral.
