SHAH ALAM: A woman suffered minor injuries after a water slide dinghy fell and struck her at a local theme park on Wednesday, police said.
District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred when the victim, in her 20s, was walking beneath the water slide.
"A dinghy suddenly fell from its hanger and hit the side of her body," he told NST. A medical examination revealed that she did not suffer serious injuries.
Iqbal said the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had issued a fine last November for the offence of constructing the theme park without written approval.
The case is being investigated for operating without a licence, which could lead to a fine of up to RM25,000 or up to three years in prison, he said.
Iqbal also said the event is being probed for recklessly causing injury, which carries a prison sentence of up to six months or a fine of up to RM1,000 if found guilty.
Those with information are urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Nor Sabryna Mohammad Tahar at 014-5130450.
