KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, along with cabinet ministers, today extended their best wishes for a Happy Federal Territory Day 2025 to all residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan.
In a Facebook post, Zahid, who is also the rural and regional development minister, highlighted this year's theme, "Wilayah Persekutuan Kita," emphasising that these territories belong to all and must be safeguarded and developed.
"As the nation's administrative, economic, and cultural hub, the Federal Territories continue to thrive due to our collective efforts.
"Let us uphold the spirit of unity and prosperity, ensuring that the Federal Territories remain a source of pride for future generations," he said.
Meanwhile, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang praised the Federal Territories as a symbol of Malaysia's uniqueness, where various ethnicities, cultures, and religions coexist in harmony.
"We have built a territory that is not only advanced but also embodies the spirit of unity and prosperity," he said in a statement today.
Aaron also called on the public to further strengthen cooperation and mutual respect to ensure the continued growth of the Federal Territories in all aspects.
"May this Federal Territory Day inspire us to continue working and serving for the collective well-being of all," he said.
Federal Territory Day is celebrated on Feb 1 each year to mark the declaration of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan as federal territories.
