#NSTviral: Netizens react to woman's car towing incident in Bukit Bintang

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman's ordeal of losing her car while eating at a popular Bukit Bintang restaurant has gone viral on TikTok.

In a TikTok video shared by @wuhuu_balll, the woman captures the bustling atmosphere as she waits in a long line outside the restaurant, located in the heart of Bukit Bintang. The footage then shifts to her enjoying a meal inside after finally securing a table.

However, her excitement turned to shock when she discovered that her car had vanished from its parking spot upon leaving the restaurant.

It was later revealed that the police had towed her vehicle due to illegal parking along the roadside and she was required to pay a fine to retrieve her car.

The Bukit Bintang area is notorious for heavy traffic and limited parking, drawing crowds to its many shopping malls and eateries. This often forces drivers to park illegally in search of available spaces.

In her comments, the woman disclosed that she paid RM100 for the car's impoundment and another RM100 for towing charges.

She also offered a cautionary note for others, warning them against parking carelessly to avoid a similar fate.

The video has amassed over 635,500 views and 30,300 likes, with netizens sharing their advice to prevent others from making the same mistake.

User @iamhere811 suggested that the car might have been towed due to causing a traffic jam, while @yhnaysf recommended motorcycles as a more convenient option for navigating Kuala Lumpur's congested roads.

@animemuscat recounted a similar experience, expressing panic at not knowing whom to contact when their own vehicle was towed.

Other users proposed alternative parking options in the area, including Lot 10, Plaza Sungei Wang, and legal spots behind nearby restaurants.
