KOTA KINABALU: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Barisan Nasional government is intact, says GRS secretary-general Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, adding that the political situation in the state is stable.
Masidi, who is second Sabah finance minister, said the state was safe for business and investors.
"It is learnt that they are certain people who alleged that they acquired support from more than half of the assemblymen to form a new state government.
"For their information, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a declaration and support from a majority of the assemblymen to continue helming the state government."
Masidi said among those who supported Hajiji were seven Pakatan Harapan assemblymen.
"We are ready to prove the legitimacy of this support whenever necessary."
Following the outcome of 15th General Election and the formation of unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Sabah saw an exodus of elected representatives from peninsular-based Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
The legitimacy of Hajiji's position was questioned as he was appointed as chief minister when he was Sabah Bersatu chief.
Despite supporting unity government at the federal level, Parti Warisan has yet to pledge support to the state government.
