ARAU: Rumours are rife that former Ketereh member of parliament Tan Sri Annuar Musa will stand for the state election in Kelantan.
Pas spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin said Annuar's name might be in the list of candidates to be submitted to the Syura Council, the party's highest decision-making body, on Friday.
"The potential names will be submitted by the states' Pas leadership. Three names will be submitted for each state seat to us (Pas Syura Council) for screening," Hashim said here today.
He said the process was vital to select qualified candidates to contest in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negri Sembilan.
He also said Pas had no issue over the application by former Selangor Umno liaison chief Tan Sri Noh Omar to join the party, or to make him a possible candidate in Selangor.
Annuar, who is president of Muafakat Nasional, joined Pas recently.
The former Umno information chief was reported as saying that he had no issue of being fielded as candidate.
It was reported earlier that Perikatan Nasional had concluded seat negotiations for the six states.
PN is expected to contest all seats; with Pas said to be contesting 126 seats, followed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) with 83 seats and Gerakan with 36 seats.
