Muda to Adam Adli: Let's have constructive dialogue on youth matters

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth-based party Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) has extended its invitation to Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim to engage in an open dialogue and constructive engagement with its president.

In a statement today, Muda said the proposed debate aimed to foster a healthy exchange of ideas, solutions and policies to address the diverse and complex issues affecting young Malaysians.

"In our pursuit of a better and more progressive nation, Muda believes in the power of healthy debates to drive positive change.

"With this, our president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, agrees with the Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli's views on the importance of open dialogue.

"Hence, he is committed to creating a platform where leaders can present their insights and aspirations for the future of the nation's youth in an inclusive manner," the statement read.

Rafizi is expected to participate in a live debate with Bachok member of parliament Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman after the latter was given the approval from the Perikatan Nasional leadership to do so.

Rafizi, also PKR deputy president, had first issued the challenge to caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor.

However, Sanusi declined the offer, saying that a debate would do nothing to improve the country's economy.

In another statement, Muda also urged other political parties and candidates to declare their assets in the run-up to the six state elections.

Muda, which had its members declare their assets earlier today, said the declaration was a testament to its commitment to fighting corruption and promoting good governance.

"As part of our commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability, all 19 candidates (of Muda) have voluntarily come forward to declare their assets to the public.

"Muda firmly believes that openness and honesty are crucial in building trust between leaders and the people they serve."

It added that transparency on assets declaration should not be limited to just one party but a shared commitment across the political landscape.

"Moving forward, Muda candidates will continue to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability throughout our political journey.

"We pledge to be accessible to the public and work tirelessly towards a just, equitable, and progressive Malaysia."
