Pas doubts Amanah can capture Kota Lama seat

KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) is optimistic that Amanah will not capture the Pas stronghold of Kota Lama state seat in the Aug 12 election.

State PN election director Zulkifli Mamat said despite Amanah's claim that it received massive support from the Chinese community in the area, Pas doubted its candidate could win the seat.

Zulkifli also thanked state Amanah election director Datuk Wan Rahim Wan Abdullah for his efforts in getting the seat from PKR.

"By doing so, he (Wan Rahim) has given Pas a chance to win the seat again," he told reporters today.

Also present was Kelantan PN secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat.

On the water issue played up by Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, Zulkifli admitted that the problem might impact the party to a certain degree.

"But continuous efforts have been made by the state Pas to resolve the issue. And the water supply to the people is improving.

"Not all areas in Kelantan have water supply issues, and now we can see the positive impact of the state government's efforts."
