#TECH: Panasonic bullish about new air conditioner demand

PANASONIC is confident about the demand for its new Inverter air conditioner series in the Malaysian market.

The Japanese electronics manufacturer expects to sell 150,000 units of their four new Inverter air conditioner series by the end of this year.

The company's newly launched air conditioner series includes the X-Deluxe Inverter Series, Smart Inverter Series, Standard Inverter Series, and Eco Inverter Series.

"Air conditioners provide relief from the heat, making indoor spaces much more comfortable for work, leisure, and rest. We are also aware of the increasing concerns about the environmental impact of excessive air conditioner usage, hence our effort to promote energy-efficient systems," said Panasonic Air-Conditioning Malaysia chief operating officer, Dai Nishi.

One of the new features of the air conditioner series is built-in Wi-Fi for better connectivity. The air conditioners are also designed to be energy-efficient, with the AI Eco mode that can maximise energy savings by up to 20 per cent.

Nishi also mentioned that with features such as nanoe X technology, which enhances deodorisation and pollen inhibition, the air conditioners can provide fresher indoor air.

Additionally, Panasonic is running the "On Lah Jimat & Selamat, Bila-Bila Masa" campaign for their latest air conditioning solutions, aiming to educate consumers about the benefits of inverter technology while promoting energy efficiency and savings.

"One of our market challenges is customer mindset, as many are not familiar with the advantages of inverter technology in air conditioners. Therefore, we strive to educate them about its benefits," Nishi added.

Nishi also announced that Panasonic will organise six roadshows from May 31 until Nov 3, targeting end users in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
