LETTERS: WE will always be exposed to new ways of doing things in a multiracial society.
A mix of perspectives, talents, skills, and ideas fosters innovation. This can be seen in food, fashion, design, art, entertainment, sports and professional settings.
Every individual has strengths and weaknesses. Everyone needs each other's help to succeed in life and ensure the country progresses.
Instead of arguing with each other, everyone should cooperate so that we can live in peace and enjoy prosperity.
Malaysia is a multiracial country and will continue to be one. Even before we gained independence in 1957, society consisted of different races.
As such, it is important for everybody to practise mutual respect and tolerance.
Of course, we can enact many laws to force people to live in peace. However, it would be much better if every person, without compulsion, initiates efforts to create a peaceful society.
