Veritas, CTAP form Singapore JV

CROSS-BORDER property development activities between Malaysia and Singapore, with developers in the city-state active in Malaysia and vice-versa, have resulted in the merger and set-up of Veritas Singapore in Paya Lebar Square in the republic.

The merger is between Veritas Design Group, which has its headquarters in KualaLumpur, and Singapore-based CTAP Architects (previously

established in 1987 as Chao TseAnn &Partners). The idea for Veritas Singapore was the result of realisation among Veritas directors in Kuala

Lumpur that a Singapore presence could be a strategic advantage for the group. Veritas Singapore combines the global presence, resources and capability of Veritas with more than 30years of CTAP’s proven track record. Having a base in Singapore provides Veritas with a springboard into markets which are economically aligned to the city-state, such as Indonesia, Brunei and even Myanmar and the Philippines.

Being present in both markets provides its Kuala Lumpur and Singapore offices with an efficient and cost-effective professional service

delivery platform to better serve their clients. For CTAP, the merger with Veritas provides it with revived impetus for growth by leveraging

the network of other international Veritas offices — in India, Vietnam, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia—for projects beyond the borders of Singapore. David Mizan Hashim, president ofVeritas, said he expects the group’s billings to exceed RM100 million this year, with at least 15 per cent further growth into next year.

“We look forward to engaging with and integrating our new colleagues in Singapore into the culture of Veritas,” he said.
