Aaron-Wooi Yik smash into Indonesia Open semi-finals

KUALA LUMPUR: World No 3 Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik got the better of Akira Koga-Taichi Saito as the Malaysian men's doubles pair reached the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open on Friday

Aaron-Wooi Yik did it in an emphatic fashion, brushing aside the world No 23 Japanese pair 21-10, 21-15 to earn their second last-four appearance in as many years in the Super 1000 meet.

Prior to today's win, the reigning world champions were beaten twice by the Japanese No 2, both in March at the Swiss Open and German Open.

Aaron-Wooi Yik will face Indonesia's Pramudya Kusumumawardana-Yeremia Rambitan in the last four tomorrow.

Aaron-Wooi Yik are bidding to reach their second final of the season following their runners-up finish at the India Open in January.
