KUALA LUMPUR: Trisha Gongadi made history with the tournament's first-ever century, scoring an unbeaten 110 runs off 59 balls, as India defeated Scotland by 150 runs in the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup Super Six match at Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Klang on Tuesday.
It was the defending champions fourth consecutive victory in the group stage.
Opting to bat after Scotland won the toss, Trisha and Kamalini G powered India to an imposing 208-1.
This total not only marks the highest score of the current edition but is also the second-highest across both editions of the tournament.
Trisha's Player of the Match performance featured 13 boundaries and four sixes.
She also contributed with the ball, taking three wickets in two overs.
Her 230 runs so far are the most by any player in the tournament.
Kamalini G added a solid half-century, scoring 51 off 42 balls, while Sanika Chalke chipped in with 29 off 20 deliveries.
Scotland struggled in their reply, managing only 58 runs before being bowled out in 14 overs.
Trisha, reflecting on her performance, credited her team and the support staff.
"I usually take a few overs to settle and then play according to the match situation. I'm a bit disappointed about missing the hat-trick but happy with the three wickets," she told Icc-cricket.com.
In another match at Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Bangladesh concluded their Group 1 campaign with a dominant 10-wicket win over the West Indies.
The rain-affected match was reduced to 13 overs, with Bangladesh opting to bowl first after winning the toss.
They restricted the West Indies to 54-6.
Bangladesh chased down the target in 8.5 overs without losing a wicket.
Meanwhile, the Super Six Group 2 match between South Africa and the United States at Borneo Cricket Ground in Sarawak was abandoned due to heavy rain, with no play possible.
