KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions India will face South Africa in the final of the Under-19 women's T20 World Cup at Bayuemas Oval in Klang on Sunday.
South Africa, who finished sixth in the 2023 edition, continued their unbeaten run with a five-wicket victory over Australia in the semi-finals on Friday.
In the other semi-final, India secured a dominant nine-wicket win over England in a one-sided contest.
After winning the toss, England opted to bat and posted 113 for eight in their 20 overs.
Davina Perrin top-scored with 45 off 40 balls, hitting two sixes and four boundaries, while captain Abigale Norgrove contributed 30 from 25 deliveries, including three fours and a six.
India chased down the target with ease, reaching 117 for one in 15 overs with 30 balls to spare.
Kamalini G led the way with an unbeaten 56 off 50 balls, striking eight fours, while Trisha Gongadi added 35 from 29 deliveries. Sanika Chalke remained unbeaten on 11.
Parunika Sisodia was named Player of the Match after taking three wickets for 17 runs in four overs.
India captain Niki Prasad said her team had anticipated a tough semi-final.
"We knew England would come hard. However, we stayed calm after that quick start from them. All of us were clear about our roles and stepped up when required," she told ICC.
Meanwhile, Australia won the toss and chose to bat, but South Africa's bowlers kept them in check, restricting them to 105 for eight in 20 overs.
South Africa chased down the target, finishing on 106 for five with 11 balls to spare.
Jemma Botha top-scored with 37 off 24 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes, while captain Kayla Reyneke contributed 26 from 26 deliveries. Wicketkeeper Karabo Meso chipped in with 19 off 29 balls.
Fifteen-year-old Caoimhe Bray was Australia's standout performer, scoring 36 from 44 deliveries.
South Africa's Ashleigh Van Wyk was named Player of the Match for her bowling performance, taking four wickets for 17 runs in three overs.
"There were a few jitters as we lost a couple of wickets in the chase, but we worked hard and had good chemistry," said Ashleigh.
