THE Malaysian Football League (MFL) are optimistic that the show will still go on next season despite confirming the withdrawals of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad and AirAsia Berhad as sponsors of the M-League.
MFL chief executive officer Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan, who confirmed the matter, said they remain positive ahead of the new season.
"AirAsia have informed us that they will stop their sponsorship," said Ghani, in a statement, yesterday.
"We had a meeting with CIMB a few days ago, and they too confirmed their intentions to withdraw their sponsorship. We are now awaiting the official letter from them.
"We would like to thank them for their support."
Ghani, however, assured that Telekom Malaysia (TM) will remain as the main sponsor of the M-League.
"TM is still with MFL. Both parties are completing the post-mortem for last season and are planning for the new season."
He confirmed that F&N 100Plus will remain as a sponsor.
"Shopee's status as a sponsor is still pending but discussions are ongoing," he added.
