JDT stun Thailand's BG Pathum United in ACL

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) proved they are made of sterner stuff after rallying to defeat Thailand's BG Pathum United 4-2 in an Asian.

Champions League (ACL) Group I match at the BG Stadium today.

The Super League champions fell behind to a goal by Victor Cardozo in the fifth minute but quickly replied through winger Arif Aiman Hanapi a minute later.

The Malaysian side then played with

confidence to press the Thai side and Bergson Da Silva put JDT ahead eight minutes later.

In the second half, Juan Muniz notched JDT's third goal but Cardozo struck again in the 55th minute to reduce the deficit.

However, Arif restored the Southern Tigers' two-goal cushion with his 78th minute strike.

The win is the perfect response from Esteban Solari's men who lost their ACL opener 1-0 to J-League side Kawasaki Frontale at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Sept 19.
