THE national lawn bowling team were forced to settled for silver in the men's fours after going down to Philippines 16-14 in the final at the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) today.
Skipper Safuan Said said Malaysia were unlucky on the big points at the National Lawn Bowls Centre in Bukit Kiara.
Daeng Dhadyry Dahasry, Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple and Zulhilmie Redzuan made up the rest of the men's team.
"We are at about the same level as Philippines in terms of experience, what made the difference today was luck," said Safuan, when met after the final.
"We needed five points to level the game but we could only manage three. It was not easy for us."
Thailand took the bronze after downing Brunei 17-14 in the playoff.
The national women's team comprising Nor Hashimah Ismail, Nur Ain Nabilah Tarmizi, Nur Fidrah Noh and Nurul Alyani Jamil will also face Philippines in the gold medal match later today.
