Nora fired up for Sea Games debut in Hanoi

Bowler Nora Lyana Nastasia Norakmal hopes to achieve a memorable Sea Games debut at the Hanoi edition on May 12-23.

Nora said she has great confidence in the training programme prepared by her coaches and is eager to get into action at the Royal City Centre in Hanoi.

All eight bowlers are making their Sea Games debut in Hanoi.

"Although this is our first time at the Sea Games, we will not face stage fright as we have been competing regularly in international tournaments," said the 25-year-old.

"Our preparations have gone well so far, and we will continue to improve until the Sea Games.

"We believe we can beat the other teams and deliver our best during the tournament."

Competing at the newly refurbished Royal City Centre will be a new experience for the national bowlers.

Nora, however, is confident they can hit the ground running.

"It will be a bit different from Sunway Megalanes where we usually train as the venue uses Brunswick (lanes) while in Vietnam they are using AMF," added the 2018 Macau ABF Tour winner.

"However, it will unlikely affect us. We have been training on various oiling patterns here and are ready to play on whatever patterns in Hanoi."

MTBC have not set a specific medal target for the young squad but do expect them to challenge for the podium.

Malaysia finished third overall in bowling at the 2019 Manila edition with a 2-3-2 haul.
