Once again, eyes will be on wushu, as Tan Zhi Yan competes in the combined taijiquan-taijijian final.
In reality, the former Sea Games gold medallist will face a tough challenge, but as always, anything is possible when it comes to 'subjective sports'.
Interestingly, Malaysia's first medal at the Games could actually come from a non-traditional sport.
In the battle for Southeast Asian Esports supremacy, Malaysia will go up against hot favourites, Vietnam, in the semi-finals of the Arena of Valor competition.
Should the Malaysian team get the upper hand, a silver medal is all but guaranteed.
In the event should Malaysia lose, they will still be able to fight for a bronze.
In sepak takraw, Malaysia will kick-start their team regu campaign against Indonesia.
Another medal prospect, the team will be looking to equal, if not better their previous silver-medal achievement at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
