RESIDENTS complained that damaged playground equipment at Taman Indera Sempurna in Kuantan, Pahang, poses a safety hazard to children.
Resident Hisham Ahmad, 46, said children had to be monitored when they were at the playground to ensure their safety.
“If the children are not monitored we are worried that they will use the broken and dangerous equipment at the playground,” he said.
Hisham urged the local authorities to repair the equipment, such as swings.
“Some of the equipment are unusable, but I still take my children to the playground as it is near my house,” he said.
He said complaints had been lodged with the housing developer, but no action had been taken.
Another resident Azman Ismail, 45, said the problem had not been rectified for three years.
“Activities can be held at the playground if it is maintained.”
He hoped that the local authorities would resolve the problem as soon as possible so that children and visitors could use the playground safely.
