Cheras to get better bus service

THERE will be three minor changes for Rapid Bus routes in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

The changes will affect and standardise bus routes 400, 401 and 450 with Mutiara Park MRT station as one of the stops, which began its service on Sept 22.

Rapid KL said the changes were done to accommodate residents in Taman Desa Aman, Taman Gemilang and Taman Mutiara Timur as they had requested Rapid KL buses stop at the Mutiara Park MRT station.

Rapid Bus chief executive officer Mohd Azam Omar said the changes were made to boost the convenience and comfort of passengers who relied on public transport, especially Rapid KL bus and MRT station services.

“Before the changes, buses did not stop at the Mutiara Park MRT station, which caused a major inconvenience to passengers.

“I am ready to help customers tweak the service area.

“However, we do have shortcomings in providing the best service.

“All requests need to be taken into consideration and discussed with the authorities involved, especially the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), which has the authority to approve changes, service areas and bus routes.”

Azam said Rapid Bus was open to suggestions from residents to provide a better service.
