A REGULAR shopper at Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Damansara has complained that a faulty elevator in the facility has not been repaired for months.
The elderly woman, who wanted to be known only as Ranee, said most of the time, the lift was out of service.
“It’s difficult for an elderly person like me to climb the stairs to the first floor of the market.”
Ranee said she had lodged several complaints with the City Hall, but no action had been
taken.
She said not only TTDI residents, but people from the surrounding areas also frequented the market.
“People from as far as Subang Jaya and Sungai Buloh come here to get their groceries.
“I believe I am not the only one who faces difficulty getting to the upper floor of the market.”
ACTIONLINE
A City Hall spokesman said the council had been notified of the faulty elevator by the management of Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
“The elevator is overused, causing it to frequently break down.”
He said repairs were being carried out.
“There is a delay in completing the repairs as we have difficulty getting spare parts.”
He said City Hall would ensure that the elevator was repaired soon for the convenience of shoppers.
