ISTANBUL, TURKEY: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) is open to discussions for prospective partners for ownership for the Istanbul Sabiha Gokchen (ISG) International Airport.
The airport operator, who currently owns 100 per cent stake in the second largest airport in Istanbul, is looking for a good fit to its airport business before deciding on a partnership.
MAHB managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said the company remains committed to be ISG's airport operator until the end of the concession in 2032.
"So far talks are still in the informal stage and no parties have presented us with a proposal as yet. What I can say is we are in no hurry to divest or look for a partner.
“This time around we are proactive on receiving a proposals or having open discussions with prospective partners for a possible equity partnership.
“We have made a commitment to remain as the airport operator for ISG to the Turkish government and we will continue to do that until a foreseeable future,” he told reporters in a media conference on Tuesday.
He was responding to queries over a previous report that it was planning to sell a minority stake in Turkey's second largest airport, ISG.
Badlisham, however, did not specify the quantum for the equity partnership MAHB is looking at and said it depends on the offer that was put on the table.
