KUALA LUMPUR: Green Packet Bhd wholly owned subsidiary, Kiple Media Sdn Bhd (KMSB), has inked a collaboration agreement with Asia Television Digital Media Sdn Bhd (ATV) to cooperate and form a joint venture to operate three digital free to air channels in Malaysia.
In a statement today, Green Packet said the partnership will see ATV investing HK$50 million into KMSB to operate broadcasting television channels in Malaysia.
Green Packet and ATV will jointly operate three broadcasting channel television in Malaysia which may comprise of Chinese language movie channel, Chinese language general entertainment channel and home shopping channel.
ATV is a wholly owned subsidiary of Co-Prosperity Holdings Ltd, an investment holding company listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
With 60 years of history, the Hong Kong-based ATV is the first Chinese television channel in the world.
Through the years, it has produced and aired numerous popular television programmes, including news, infotainment, drama, game and variety shows.
In addition, ATV will showcast a major Chinese drama series starring Fang Bing Bing, which is of the highest production value to date.
Through this joint venture, Green Packet and ATV will deliver content to the households in Malaysia next year.

“Green Packet and ATV have committed to this MOU and this cooperation would strengthen our business offer for TV broadcasters,” said Green Packet founder and board member Puan Chan Cheong.
ATV chief executive officer Yu Ng said the company needs new partnerships in driving its business and it is a great effort to work together with Green Packet.
“We believe this strategic alliance will become an integral part of our business. This collaboration will provide us the stepping stone into broadcasting of television channels in Malaysia,” he said.
