KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has appointed Datuk Fazlur Rahman Zainuddin as its chief strategy and regulatory officer to lead the strategy and regulatory division, effective August 1, 2018.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TNB said the appointment is part of a job rotation, in line with its succession planning programme.

Fazlur, 49, is currently the chief financial officer (CFO) and vice-president of group finance at TNB, since July 1, 2012.

Prior to this, Fazlur served for 10 years, from 1995, with Shell Malaysia in various financial management and corporate roles.

He was also the CFO of Naza Group. Prior to joining Naza Group in 2010, he was with Telekom Malaysia Bhd in several capacities since 2005, with his last position as vice president of business development.

Meanwhile, TNB has announced that Nazmi Othman will be replacing Fazlur as CFO, to lead the group's finance division.

Nazmi, 54, is currently TNB's chief investment management officer since February 14, 2014.

Prior to joining TNB, he was with Island and Peninsular Bhd and Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd.

He held directorships in Integrax Bhd and TNB Northern Energy Bhd.

TNB has also announced the resignation of its non-executive directors Badrul Ilahan Abd Jabbar and Tan Sri Chor Chee Heung, citing pursuit of other interests.
