Alha Alfa to invest RM2m in cosmetics factory

KUALA LUMPUR: Alha Alfa Rich Legacy Sdn Bhd has set aside an initial RM2 million to set up its own cosmetics factory in Kajang, Selangor.

"Our sales momentum has grown to the extent that it makes commercial sense to set up our own cosmetics factory, incorporating the latest cosmeceutical technologies," said founder Datuk Abdul Al Halim Mohd Al Fadzil.

He said the company is committed in delivering quality in its products for the long run.

"For a start, we've set aside RM2 million from our internally generated funds to make our own products that is of international standards.

"We hope to see our cosmetics facilities open for operations next year," he said, adding Alha Alfa is currently importing face powders, lipsticks, mascara that are made in South Korea.

He was speaking to reporters after the company's second annual dinner held here recently.

Better known as Alha, he runs the cosmetics business with his family members.

Asked on company sales, Alha said his company is introducing more products for Hari Raya festivities and hopes to top RM25 million revenue this year.

"Last year, we garnered RM15.8 million in revenue. Out of that total, RM8.4 million was contributed by our Top 5 stockists and their agents," he said.

Last year, Alha Alfa Kosmetik emerged as one of the main sponsors of the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian.

Apart from building close rapport with local celebrities via sponsorships, his team also uses social media extensively.

"We have Facebook Live sessions very Thursday to reach out to our customers.

"You will soon see Alha Alfa advertisements at the MRT station at Central Market. We are open to various channels to expand our digital reach," he said.
