Nityo Infotech seals acquisition deal purely online and by working from home

KUALA LUMPUR: The Movement Control Order (MCO) has led to restricted movement of the general public and virtual shutdown of businesses since it was enforced mid this month but it did not stop Information Technology (IT) services company Nityo Infotech Sdn Bhd from concluding the acquisition of Olive Technologies Sdn Bhd purely online and from home.

Nityo Malaysia country head G Rajasekhar said it was one of the best examples of how technology is helping the sustainability of Malaysian economy and growth while shifting the paradigm of work culture from physical to virtual.

“The work from home order may be an unchartered territory for many but amidst the chaos caused by the Covid-19 infection worldwide, we managed to seal the acquisition of another company purely online, and by our work from home team,” he said in a statement.

He pointed out that while Covid-19 has paralyzed the day to day life of many, people have to adapt and acclimatise themselved with the work from home concept in desperate times like this when there is no job security and layoffs are looming.

“It may seem daunting and some might think it deters them from working effectively.

“However, our recent acquisition of Olive Technologies - which is a MSC status company that has been in operations since 2015, can be seen as somewhat of a light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

Meanwhile, founder and chairman of Nityo Infotech, Naveen Kumar said Nityo aimed to become a 4,000 employee IT company in Malaysia by 2022.

It now has 800 employees in Malaysia, of which 75 per cent are locals.

Nityo Infotech is operating in 12 countries with a global strength of 14,000 employees and has offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Hongkong, Vietnam and India in the Asia Pacific region.
