KUALA LUMPUR: Keysight Technologies Inc, which has a primary manufacturing and order fulfilment site in Malaysia, has completed its US$330 million acquisition of Eggplant from The Carlyle Group.
Eggplant is a software test automation platform provider that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to automate test creation and test execution.
Keysight chairman and chief executive officer Ron Nersesian said the acquisition aligned with its strategy to grow the company's first-to-market software-centric solutions.
"We're thrilled to welcome the Eggplant team to the Keysight family.
"We look forward to working together in the fast-growing intelligent software test market with differentiated software-as-a-service technologies," said Nersesian in a statement today.
Eggplant chief executive officer John Bates will join the Keysight leadership team reporting to Keysight's Penang-based Electronic Industrial Solutions Group president Soon Chai Gooi.
Bates said joining Keysight gives Eggplant the ability to scale its intelligent automation platform and reach more organisations across the globe.
"We share a vision to accelerate innovation and together we will be able to help customers on their digital transformation journey.
"We're proud of what we have accomplished through our employees and partners' contributions, and we are excited about this next chapter," he added.
Eggplant had 2019 revenue of US$38 million.
