KUALA LUMPUR: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd's subsidiary Future Rock Sdn Bhd (FRSB) has bagged a RM154.40 million contract from Eastern & Oriental Bhd's unit Tanjung Pinang Development Sdn Bhd in Penang.
In an exchange filing today, Kerja Prospek said the project would be for the proposed construction of temporary coastal protection structure for Phase 2B and part of Phase 2C of reclamation for Seri Tanjung Pinang (Phase II) development (STP2) project in Tanjung Tokong.
The contract will commence on September 23 this year and to be completed within 40 months from the commencement date.
Kerjaya Prospek said the acceptance of the contract was in the ordinary course of business of FRSB and was undertaken on an arm's length basis, based on normal commercial terms which were not more favourable than those generally available to the public.
"The contract is expected to provide an additional stream of revenue for the group over the next five financial years," it added.
In a separate statement today, Kerjaya Prospek said its outstanding order book stood at RM3.7 billion that would provide healthy earnings visibility for the next few years.
Executive chairman Datuk Tee Eng Ho said the company was delighted to have secured the fifth contract for 2020 in such quick succession.
"It reflects the group's ability to steadily replenish its order book during such challenging times. We will continue to work hard and execute our on-going projects to deliver sustainable earnings and create value for our shareholders," he added.
